Bert-Co Acquires In-Line Finishing Equipment for Cartons
Packaging printer, Bert-Co, purchases a pick and place machine capable of placing products such as credit cards and lenticulars and also merging substrates such as rigid windows onto cartons without the use of hand labor. New capability works well for packaging products in the cosmetic, distilled beverage and multi-media industries.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 5, 2009 -- Bert-Co, a key manufacturer of folding cartons, point-of-purchase materials and specialty packaging acquires a "smart packing" machine for in-line gluing applications that relieves the need of hand labor. The SmartPack, as Bert-Co refers to it, is currently located in their Los Angeles facility.
Bert-Co's SmartPack machine can apply a rigid window or multiple rigid windows in-line at a time. It can also combine substrates, such as board and plastic and pick and place products such as credit cards or trays. Their first job on the Smart Pack was of a lenticular application for The Terminator DVD sleeve.
"The great thing about the SmartPack is that it has modules which make it very versatile and easy to customize to every job," says Alex Castro VP of Operations in Los Angeles. "It can run several thousands units an hour depending upon complexity," Castro adds.
