RGB-to-CMYK conversion: you will have more control over the appearance of your printed piece if you convert all of the images from RGB to CMYK before sending them to us.

(When we receive RGB images, we do a standard-value conversion to CMYK, which may not be perfectly to your liking).

• Resolution for images: 300 - 350 dpi is recommended (350 for Web Printing).
• Resolution for scanned line art: 1200 dpi .
• When saving TIFF, Embed Color Profile should NOT be checked.

• Dieline settings: .5 point, Overprint . Colorize as spot color “ Dielines ”.
• Add Bleeds .
• Bar Code should be 100% Black only.
• All colors in the color pallete that are not being used must be removed.
• Please check colors to insure CMYK or Spot colors. Any colors created in the document that are not in the PANTONE palette, need to be change to the CMYK color space.
• Spot colors should match to layout applications (QuarkXP, InDesign).

•  Miter Box: making crosscuts or miter joints in the bleed areas.
Ex :

If you plan to use a different set of instructions for creating PDF, we strongly urge you to submit a test file before submitting live job files.

• Files must be supplied as single pages (including double page spreads).
• It is sufficient and beneficial to send just those pages that were edited for revision cycle.
• Spot colors (PMS) are acceptable in PDFs.
• Image resolution falls between 280 – 450 dpi (350 dpi advised) in final PDF.
• No RGB color or JPEG format Images.
• Do not embed ICC Profiles within images.

We reserve the right to request a new PDF file from the publisher in order to make trim or margin adjustments.

• Fonts must be embedded; Postscript Type 1 Fonts, TrueType fonts or Open Type are acceptable.
• Should not contain any Multiple Master because they can perform unpredictably.
